Weekly Devo 5-10-26 Mother's Day

DAY 1 — KEEP THE DOOR OPEN

Devo

Mary’s house became known as a place where people could gather, pray, and encounter God. When fear filled Jerusalem and persecution intensified, she still opened her home to believers. She could have protected herself. She could have chosen silence. Instead, she chose faithfulness.

One of the greatest pictures in this message is not just that Mary opened her physical door — she kept her heart open too.

Sometimes loving people is hard. Sometimes praying for family members who seem distant from God can wear us down emotionally. But faithful love refuses to quit too early.

God never asks us to carry people alone. He asks us to keep trusting Him while we stay faithful in the role He has given us.

Your open door may be the very thing God uses to bring someone home someday. 💛

Truth2Hold

God can use a faithful, open-hearted life to change generations. ✨

Prayer

Father, help me stay faithful even when I feel discouraged. Give me wisdom, strength, and compassion for the people You’ve placed in my life. Help me love without giving up and trust You even when I cannot yet see the outcome. Teach me to keep my heart soft and my faith strong. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Making it Personal

Who in your life are you tempted to stop believing for? Be honest with God about your frustration, then choose one simple act of love or prayer today instead of pulling away. ❤️

DAY 2 — PRAYING MOTHERS CHANGE THINGS

Devo

When Peter was imprisoned, the church gathered at Mary’s house and prayed through the night. While the government threatened the church, believers sought God together. And God moved powerfully.

Prayer may seem small in the moment, but heaven sees it differently.

Some of the greatest spiritual victories begin quietly in prayer long before anyone sees the results publicly. A praying mother, grandmother, mentor, or spiritual leader carries more influence than they may realize.

Prayer reaches places we cannot.

Prayer softens hearts we cannot change ourselves.

Prayer keeps us connected to hope when circumstances try to convince us to quit.

Never underestimate what God can do through consistent prayer. 🔥

Truth2Hold

Persistent prayer invites God’s power into impossible situations. ✨

Prayer

Lord, strengthen my prayer life. Help me pray with faith instead of fear. Teach me to bring every burden to You instead of carrying it alone. Give me courage to believe You are still working even when answers seem delayed. Let my prayers become part of the story You are writing in the lives around me. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Making it Personal

What burden have you quietly stopped praying about? Bring it honestly before God today and ask Him to renew your faith instead of your fear. ❤️

DAY 3 — GOD ISN’T FINISHED WITH YOUR STORY

Devo

John Mark failed more than once. He ran from hard situations. He disappointed people. He even became part of a major disagreement between Paul and Barnabas.

Yet failure was not the final chapter of his life.

Years later, Paul would call him “useful” in ministry. The same man once rejected became valuable to the kingdom of God. That is the grace of God at work.

Some people feel trapped by their past mistakes. Others feel discouraged watching someone they love struggle spiritually. But God specializes in restoration.

Growth takes time.

Healing takes time.

Maturity takes time.

God does not give up on people simply because the process is messy.

And neither should we. 🌿

Truth2Hold

Failure does not cancel God’s purpose for your life. ✨

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being patient with me. Thank You that my failures are not greater than Your grace. Help me keep growing instead of quitting. Restore hope where disappointment has settled in. Teach me to trust that You are still writing my story and the stories of the people I love. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Making it Personal

Where have you started believing “it’s too late”? Surrender that thought to God and take one step today toward obedience, healing, or restoration. ❤️

DAY 4 — THE LONG VIEW OF FAITH

Devo

Mary likely died before she ever saw the full outcome of her prayers for John Mark. She did not see the Gospel of Mark written. She did not see Paul asking for John Mark’s help from prison. Yet her faithfulness still mattered deeply.

Faith often requires the long view.

We want immediate answers, but God frequently works over years, not moments.

Some seeds planted today may not fully bloom until later. But faithful people continue sowing anyway.

The long view says:
“Even if I don’t see everything now, I will still trust God.”

That kind of faith changes families, churches, and generations. 🌱

Truth2Hold

Faithfulness today can shape outcomes you may not see yet. ✨

Prayer

Father, help me trust You beyond what I can currently see. Strengthen me when I grow weary waiting for breakthrough. Remind me that You are always working behind the scenes. Help me stay faithful in prayer, love, and obedience even when progress feels slow. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Making it Personal

What situation has tested your patience lately? Ask God to help you embrace the long view instead of giving up too early. ❤️

DAY 5 — COME HOME

Devo

The sermon closed with a powerful reminder: just as Mary kept her door open, our Heavenly Father keeps His door open too.

Some people carry deep shame from their past. They feel too far gone, too broken, or too unworthy to return to God.

But the gospel says otherwise.

Jesus welcomes repentant hearts.

No failure is beyond His mercy.

No wandering heart is too distant for His grace.

The invitation of God is still the same today:
Come home.

Whether someone has drifted spiritually, walked through disappointment, or simply grown cold toward God, His arms remain open.

Grace is still available.

Hope is still alive.

And it is never too late to return to Him. 🕊️

Truth2Hold

God’s grace is greater than your worst failure. ✨

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for never giving up on me. Thank You for welcoming broken people with mercy and love. Help me walk closely with You again. Heal the places where shame, fear, or regret have kept me distant. Draw wandering hearts back home to You today. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏

Making it Personal

What would it look like for you to fully come back to God today? Be honest about where you’ve drifted, then take one practical step toward Him. ❤️
