The Bible gives us four simple but very basic steps to know God.

  1. Admit that you are a sinner in need of a savior. No rationalizations and no excuses- be totally honest and aware that you are a sinner before a holy God.
  2. Be willing to repent and turn away from your sinful lifestyle. Repenting means changing your life. It goes beyond just admitting that you sin; you need to turn away from your sins and begin living as God tells us to in the Bible.
  3. Believe the message that God gave you in the Bible. The message of the Bible is that Jesus was God in human form. God Himself became a man--the only perfect man ever. Then he died for our sins and was raised from the dead, to take away the sins of the world, and to become the savior of all who accept this gift.
  4. Receive the gift that Christ gave you when he died on the cross. God, in His love and mercy, chose to provide a way out of our sins. That gift was the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus's full payment of our sin penalty, so that we could be clean before God.

Would you like to accept Jesus into your life and heart? You can accept the gift of salvation by telling God in prayer.

Here is how you can pray:

  1. Begin by admitting that you are a sinner.
  2. Tell Him that you want to be forgiven for your sins
  3. Tell Him that you want His leadership in your life, that you want to find out how He wants you to live, and that you want to live His way.
  4. Thank Him for allowing you to be his child.

If you prayed that prayer and really meant it, you can come to Christ for forgiveness and a new life where He is your leader. You have become a Christian. Something miraculous has happened to you. Your life will never be the same!
